Dream Script
The scene starts with people freefalling in the sky. They are teenagers wearing snow gear and snowboards. They are falling headlong towards the ground, the sun
brightly silhouetted behind them, the sky a deep rich blue.
We close in to one of the snowboarders, a boy, as he tumbles through the sky.
Snowboard kid #1 [in thought]: “The rush…”
The boy continues to tumble and complete different maneuvers in the air. Clouds are whizzing by as he falls through the atmosphere.
Snowboard kid #1 [in thought]: “There’s nothing like it…”
He is continuing to fall; now visible are some very high snow capped mountains. They look similar in style to those found in the Himalayas.
The snowboarders continue to fall through the sky, now surrounded on both sides by the huge snowy mountain rushing by on both sides.
Snowboard kid #1 [In thought]: “Nothing like the cold…”
The snowboarders continue to fall doing more tumbling in the air.
Snowboard kid #1 [in thought]: “it makes you feel…”
The bottom of the mountain is quickly approaching. The snowboarders set up to land.
KWOOOOSH
They land on a 60-degree incline on the side of the mountain in the snow, making explosions of snow in the process.
You can see they are coming up to a wooden lodge. It is a nice kind of lodge, made of wood that is varnished and a golden yellow color. It has snow on its roof and large doors that can be pushed open.
The snowboarders are headed towards this lodge, shot from behind them looking at the lodge.
You close in on the snowboard kid’s face as he rushes down the side of the mountain.
FOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!
The snowboarders burst through the door, snow and wind kicking in with them.
Snowboard kid #1 [out loud]: “ALIVE!”
The snowboarders ride on the red carpet, down flights of stairs and even grinding on shiny, gold colored railings. There is no one in this lodge except for them. It does not look abandoned; in fact, it looks very clean and well maintained with proper warm lighting and furnishings.
The snowboarders stop to look around, and dismount their boards.
Snowboard kid #1: “Where is everyone?”
Snowboard kid #2: “Who cares, we got this place all to ourselves now.”
Snowboard kid #1 [nervous]: heh…
He second kid plops down in a large red chair in the middle of the huge foyer, kicking his feet up.
Snowboard kid #2: Don’t tell me you’re scared, we just fell 60 miles from a plane and rode down one of the steepest peaks in all of West Winter.
KRAAAAAASSSH
Suddenly, a glass chandelier falls from the ceiling and crashes into the floor. The lodge begins to creak and groan as it shakes as though there were an earthquake.
Both kids are knocked to the floor.
Snowboard kid #2: What the HELL was that?!
The lodge lurches again, this time feeling as though the entire building had been violently pushed off its foundation. The kids are sent flying from one end of the lodge to the other.
KRRRRRAAAAAACKKKK
At the same time the roof of the lodge is torn away. Sunlight rushes in and blinds the kid’s eyes. Before they can adjust, the silhouette of something large blocks the sky. It crashes down into the middle of the lodge.
FRRRROMMMMMM
The kids barely have time to cover their heads and run from under it because the object is so large that it almost reaches from wall to wall.
Still with his head cover, kid one looks at the object. It is a large white mass.
Snowboard kid #1: “avalanche?”
His eyes still adjusting, he touches the mass of white. It is not the texture of snow, but of a dense fur.
The white mass begins to pulse and lift up from the lodge. It can be see that the shape is a large paw like hand, with large black claws. It is in a clenched position as it rises.
Snowboard kid #1: TJ!
The sound is distant and muffled, but can be heard.
Snowboard kid #2 [TJ]: Jeremy, help!
Helpless, Jeremy stands in the destroyed lodge looking up as the hand lifts away with his friend inside. It can be seen that the large paw is connected to some kind of large beast. The face of the beast looks lupine, but has the large horns of a ram. The arms are big like a gorilla with large blue runic markings over them.
Jeremy: No, it’s…..
The large paw raises itself high over the creature’s black mouth. The teeth are large and sharp; the sunlight shines off of them. TJ can be seen falling into the creature’s mouth.

Random Dream
Dream Sequence
The dream starts on a sunny day. I am with a group of people and we are free falling down the side of a snowy mountain. The face of the mountain is about a vertical 90-degree drop. We are also riding on snowboards. We manage to land on a slope at the bottom of the mountain going at full speed. We race right into a hotel, which has snow all over the floor. We start doing tricks off the furniture and on the railings. Somehow, after this we can see a gigantic zombie squid attacking a party ship out on the coast. Everyone on the ship is panicking and getting eaten. I fly to it to try and stop it. However, I learn that the only way to defeat the giant zombie squid is to fly away from it. (Yes, that’s right, fly away). So I fly away from the giant zombie squid and it dies and thus the world is saved.

Shot of the wagon wheel and grass around it. Can see the driver and other running off.
“The lazy rascals had not burned around the wagon and most probably had set the resinous tambouki grass near by, on fire and bolted.”
Hans, Mashune and Quatermain standing around the burned wagon. Some sitting against it.
“All of our supplies we totally destroyed and we were nearly 300 miles away from Bamangwato, the capital of Khama’s country.”
Overhead shot of the men looking at a map spread out on a burned box, pointing to a location on the map.
Long widescreen shot of the men walking silhouetted against the sky.
“I will spare you the long journey and get right to the story about the tusks.”
Men sitting at a makeshift camp, clearly exhausted, clothes in tatters and dirty.
“We had been traveling for about a month, living as best we could. We were some 40 miles from Bamangwato.”
Shot of the men looking at the ammo they have left for their guns.
“We were exhausted and so was our ammunition.”
Hans walking out into the brush.
“Hans, who was a better shot than Mashune took two of the three remaining Martini Cartridges to try and find us something to eat.”
Shot of Treeline, birds flying up.
POW
“Mashune and I heard the shot apparently fired from about a mile away.”
Darker now, sun is setting, the men are sitting around a fire they have built.
Actual speech.
Hunter Quatermain, “Mashune, where is Hans, my heart is heavy for him.”
Mashune looking at the fire.
Mashune, “Nay, my father, I know not; mayhap he is weary, and sleeps, or maybe he has lost his way.”
Hunter Quatermain looks directly at Mashune.
Hunter Quatermain: “Tell me, in all the years thou hast hunted by my side, didst thou ever know a Hottentot to lose his path or to sleep upon the way to camp?'
Out shot of the two men.
Narrative speech: “But though we talked thus, neither of us liked to hint at what was in both our minds, namely, that misfortune had overtaken the poor Hottentot.”
Both men walking through the brush, following foot prints.
Narration: “The next morning we went out looking for him.”
“A mile or more from the site of our camping-place, when we discovered the spoor of a solitary bull buffalo mixed up with the spoor of Hans.”
Crouched down, feeling the ground for tracks. Can see blood, kicked dirt.
Mashune: “Look! here the bull came like a boulder down the hill, his hoofs turning up the earth like a hoe. Hans had hit him: he bled as he came; there are the blood spots. It is all written down there, my father--there upon the earth.”
Worm-eye shot looking up at Hunter Quatermain.
Hunter Quatermain: “Yes, but where is Hans?”
Looking over his should as Mashune points.
Next panel, shot of dead Hans in a tree.
CRASH!
Both men turn to see the bull has returned, charging towards them.
Mashune shouts and run off into the thorns to dodge the bull as Hunter Quatermain takes aim at the bull.
BANG!
Quartermain shoots the bull in the shoulder, see the bullet hit.
Shot of the bull staggering a bit.
Quatermain runs for cover in an ant bear whole, the bull is thrashing it’s horns trying to gore him.
He is stuck in one shoulder by a horn.
View from behind Mashume, hiding in the bush watching.
Hunter Quatermain: “He has got me!” “Mashune, stab!”
Mashume jumps towards the bull with his spear and stabs it.
He is thrown to the ground and gored. Bull turns and tosses Mashune.
The bull bellows loudly, you see the spear has hit it’s mark.
And the bull falls dead.
THUD
Quatermain runs to Mashune.
Quatermain is crouched next to him, as Mashune sits up against a tree.
Mashune: “Is he dead, Macumazahn? My eyes are blind; I cannot see.”
Quatermain: “Yes, he is dead.”
Mashune puts his head back and smiles a bit.
Mashume: “Ow! I am glad.”
Narration, scene, taken back high.
“Then came the long silence, broken only by the sound of the air whistling through the whole in his lung as he breathed.”
Mashune: "Macumazahn, art thou there? I cannot feel thee.”
Hunter Quatermain holds his hand.
Hunter Quatermain: “I am here, Mashune.”
Profile shot of Mashune, eyes closed.
Mashune: “I die, Macumazahn… the world flies round and round. I go… I go out into the dark! Surely, my father, at times in days to come.. thou wilt think of Mashune who stood by thy side..when thou killest elephants, as we used.. as we used…”
Shot of Hunter Quatermain laying Mashune out.
Narration: “They were his last words, his brave spirit passed with him. I dragged his body to the hole under the tree, and pushed it in, placing his broad assegai by him, according to the custom of his people, that he might not go defenceless on his long journey…”
Half cut off, only see his cheek, Hunter Quatermain releases a tear.
Hunter Quatermain: “..and then, ladies--I am not ashamed to confess--I stood alone there before it…”
Narration: “…and wept like a woman."

Expectations
I've been really interested in wanting to create my own web comic over the years. I'm always hesitant to start out though because I really don't know what the comic would be about, or how to properly develop a character or plot.
I'd definitely like to learn how to write diologue. How to develop a character (script). How to work with the passage of time in a piece.
